Harp Pieces
Every Sound a Flower (2023)
Instrumentation: Harp solo
Duration: 8 min.

Every Sound a Flower was written about the life of my patron saint, Saint Hildegard von Bingen. Hildegard was born in 1098 in what is now known as Germany. When she was 15 years old, she became a Benedictine nun and later an abbess. She was a mystic, writer, healer, philosopher, composer, and more. Hildegard was extremely influential in the building up of the Church and is now known as a Doctor of the Universal Church. The title and many of the melodies are taken from music by Hildegard. This harp solo uses various extended techniques to explore different sounds that the harp can make as it goes through different melodies and different experiences from the life of St. Hildegard.
In Amorem Incideris (2022)
Instrumentation: 3 Harps
Duration: 4.5 min.

In Amorem Incideris is a piece I wrote about falling in love. It specifically depicts the beginning of love, where the spark grows into something bigger, intense, and passionate. This piece was written for three harps and starts with a motif that develops and then moves into several sections, emulating different emotions that come with finding true love.
The Harp Collection (2022)
Instrumentation: Harp solo
Duration: 5 min.

I. Heartbreak in C minor (2021)
II. Leaves on a Stream (2022)
This collection consists of two short harp solos, which were inspired by my experiences during college. Music, especially composition, has always been a way for me to release my emotions, and these pieces reflect that. "Heartbreak in C Minor" follows the pain of a broken heart, while "Leaves on a Stream" was named after a grounding exercise I practice, in which I imagine placing my worries on leaves and watching them float away on a stream.
The harp is included as an ensemble instrument in various vocal works such as Missa Domini Pastoris, Ab Altitudine, and Arise and in chamber music in The Giving Tree and in the short film, "The Housewife"
