Composition

Halie Wyckoff is a composer based in Denton, Texas, specializing in sacred choral music and harp-centered chamber works. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of North Texas, where she studied composition with Dr. Sungji Hong, Dr. Zvony Nagy, and Dr. Kirsten Soriano.

Halie’s music often reflects her Catholic faith and her deep connection to the harp, an instrument she has played since childhood. Her compositional voice blends lyricism with rich harmonic textures, particularly suited to sacred and intimate ensemble settings.

Her major works include Missa Domini Pastoris for choir, organ, and harp; Every Sound a Flower for solo harp; and In Amorem Incideris, a contemplative piece for harp trio. She recently premiered Arise, a duet for harp and baritone, at her wedding.

In addition to original compositions, Halie is passionate about arranging for harp ensemble. Her arrangements—such as The Avengers, Ashokan Farewell, Lovely, and Ave Maria—have been performed by harpists at events including the 2023 TMEA Convention and the 2024 American Harp Society National Conference.

Halie continues to write music that highlights the expressive potential of the harp and the human voice, with a growing portfolio of liturgical, pedagogical, and concert works.
